Whew! It's been a busy month! The snowbirds are back, the stores are buzzing and the holidays are upon us. Our talented Susan from our Stuart store whipped up this adorable pattern in Plymouth's Jelli Beenz and we thought, tis the season for sharing--so here's a free pattern for you to enjoy!
MATERIALS
Plymouth Jelli Beenz 1 ball each of 5 colors
(We used 6896--light yellow pink blue (A), 6029—baby pink multi (B), 0450—spring green mix (C), 6793—baby blue pink multi (D) and 1309—purple mix (E))
Size 8 needles
Gauge is 4.5 sts per inch.
Pattern (14 row repeat)
Row 1 & 2 Knit
Row 3-14 stockinette stitch
DIRECTIONS
BACK With color E, CO 54 sts. Follow 14 row pattern as listed above. Change to
color D and repeat 14 row pattern. Change to color C and repeat 14 row pattern. Change to color B and repeat 14 row pattern. Change to color A and repeat 14 row pattern. Continue stockinette stitch pattern with color A until piece measures 12 inches, ending with a WS row. Divide for back neck and follows: Knit 16 sts, join new yarn and bind off center 22 sts, knit remaining 16 stitches. Continue working both sides at once with separate ball of yarn until back measures 12 ½ inches. Bind off.
FRONT Work same as back until piece measures 10 ½ inches, ending with a WS row. Knit 19 sts, join another ball of yarn and bind off center 16 sts. Working both sides at once, dec 1 st each neck edge every other row 3 times—16 sts each side. Work even
until piece measures same as back. Bind off.
SLEEVES Make 2 With A, cast on 28 sts. Begin stockinette stitch, inc 1 stitch each
side every 6th row 5 times and every 4th row 4 times—46 sts.
Work even until 8 inches from beginning. Bind off.
Finishing Sew right shoulder seam. With right side facing and color A, pick up and knit 64 sts along neck edge. Work in stockinette stitch for 5 rows. Bind off loosely. Sew left seam, including neckband. Sew in sleeves and sew sleeve and underarm seams.
