FREE PATTERN DAY! EASY LACE SCARF!!

What could be more sublime? The soft hand of Malabrigo Merino or the sumptuous hand-dyed colorways their artisans create? This easy, four row pattern bridges those two fine attributes, yielding a stunning result. If you enjoy Malabrigo, check out our knitting adventure where we'll travel to Urugary this November--we will learn to hand-dye our very own merino right there with the artists. Neatareeeno!!

MATERIALS
2 skeins of Malabrigo Merino Worsted
Size 9 needles
CO 38 sts. Knit 3 rows. Begin lace pattern.
Row 1: K6, *YO, K2, SSK, K2TOG, K2, YO, K1; rep from * to last 5 sts, K5
Row 2: K5, purl across row to last 5 sts, K5.
Row 3: K5, *YO, K2, SSK, K2TOG, K2, YO, K1: rep from * to last 6 sts, K6
Row 4: Repeat Row 2.
Continue in pattern until desired length. Finish with an odd row. Knit 3 more rows. BO loosely, Block scarf lightly to open up lace pattern.
Note: SSK is a decrease: slip next two sts as if to knit, one at a time to the right –hand needle. Insert left needle into the front of these sts then knit them together. Also, we slipped the first stitch of each row, giving the scarf an attractive side edge.

Don't be afraid of lace--it only looks harder than you'd think--take one of our classes and you too will find it a breeze!
